SUSTAINABILITY

The TRM pile manufacturing and installation process has been given an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

The EPD summarises environmental information so that the sustainability and impact on the environment of similar products can be compared.

The awarding of EPD and the content of an EPD are regulated by ISO 14025 and EN 15804. An important part of the EPD is the Global Warming Potential (GWP) represented as a CO2 equivalent.

The EPD award was based on data from the factory production facilities and from construction sites. This data and the EPD itself were reviewed and approved by Bau EPD the independent issuer and administrator of the EPD together with a team of verifiers.

DPS often offers DIPPs as an alternative to bored piles. To enable direct comparisons to be made between DIPPs and bored piles one of the verifiers of the EPD was commissioned to carry out a study on two specific construction projects.

This study found that using TRM DIPPs result in 30% to 60% LESS CO2 equivalent units than bored piles.

The study report is attached.
